Awesome!! I will add it to the v2.0-dev plugin list (hopefully later today!)

BTW, I proposed some kind of crowd funding for devs who port to MM, but my idea was pretty much shot down. I hope the folks reading this will at least send you something to help support your work in porting and maintaining JW plugins on MM. Crowdfunding for App Development

LOL. It was shot down by one person. It’s not as if you received massive push back from the entire MM community.

I think the “buy me a coffee” is a good mechanism. I’m certainly not adverse to making a monetary contribution to developers for modules ported to the MM. I will say I’m more amenable to doing so for modules that have actually been ported than funding proposed development work. Maybe that’s because back in the day I funded some speculative Kickstarter projects that never produced a product.

Oh, I see now, the auto-loader was ignoring the one with “v1.0” in the file name because of an old leftover feature we had when the v2.0-dev series started (ignoring v1.0 plugins by looking for that in the file name).
I took that out, and I’ll write a bit about file names and versions and how the autoloader works in the docs.

I hope so too! Likewise for all plugin authors and those contributing to ports!

However a developer wants to approach funding (if at all), I have no opinion because it’s really up to the person who’s work it is. E.g. if they want to do a kickstarter or buymeacoffee or patreon, or sell the downloads on gumroad – it’s all good!

One idea we could do is have a standard field in the plugin-mm.json file that’s a link to a funding page. So if a plugin developer chooses, they could provide a link that would show up on the Plugins page.
Right now our 2.0 plugins are just a zip file, but that will change soon!

It would be cool if 4ms as a company could incentivize devs to port in some way. Perhaps have a fund derived from profits made on the MM. After all, more plugin support will make the MM more attractive to buyers and generate more sales.

personally id rather wish for 4ms to be able to be focused on improving the mm, bringing awesome features like sms, stacked inputs, modules able to “talk” to each other(expander abilities), polyphony like in vcv. rather than having their time/resources pulled away from that…

maybe you could put together a kickstarter and get several plugin devs on board?

but also, i like dans idea of 3rd party devs selling their mmplugins on gumroad with 4ms posting links to those pages, driving traffic from the forum or plugins download page, or wherever. gumroad is great for that kind of thing.

They could easily do both. However, I believe the long-term success of the platform depends on its adoption and support of a larger developer base, and it would help to incentivize them in some way.

… And it’s live: MetaModule | Downloads

Thanks @jeremywen for the beautiful plugins!

Reporting that the “tree” module seems to crash dev-13 for me.

new build Release 2.0.2-dev-13 rebuilt again, i think this works · jeremywen/JWModulesMeta · GitHub

(I forgot the submodule update)

So far it’s working for me. This one (v2.0.2) is the dev plugins download.

Seems to be working fine with the latest 2.00-dev RC!

@jeremywen

First of all thanks for taking your time to convert your amazing VCV Rack modules to MM!

I’m using them all the time in my patches in VCV

I wanted to report a bug in at least the 8seq and the DivSeq module.

The buttons that should randomize the gate/prob/notes are not randomizing the parameters no matter if you map them to the MM dials or by adjusting them though the rotary dial.

As I use this feature all the time in VCV it would be great if you could fix this in the MM version :black_heart:

Cheers
