the first thing i noticed, ux-wise, is that the menu lists and module view etc. use wrap-around navigation, meaning that when you scroll past the bottom item, it jumps back to the top (and vice versa).
this makes so u can’t quickly scroll up or down with the button.
instead, you have to move very carefully to avoid overshooting, which hinders fast navigation.
is there a menu setting that can be added to prevent this behaviour?
i had actually requested that we have wrap around navigation enabled for all things - like plugins.
some parts of the ui we see wrap around, and other parts we don’t. would be nice to have a consistency, and i like the idea for an option to turn off/on this behavior globally.
I recently turned wrapping off in a few places where it doesn’t make sense, like dialog boxes with just 2 or 3 items. But yeah it’s occurred to me too that it’s more of a personal preference if you want to spin fast to hit the bottom of a list or have it wrap around so you can get back to the top easily. I wonder if changing that globally would actually help since to me it seems like I want it in some places (like the patch view so I can wrap from the button bar to a module at the bottom) and not in others (like a dialog box where I don’t want to accidentally hit the wrong button because I clicked too far and it wrapped around).
Maybe a preference for “Enable selection wrapping when more than ## items”? Or fine-grained: “enable wrapping” option for each page (Patch View, Module element roller, Knob Set view, dialog boxes…)
this would be ideal. i for instance like to have wrapping turned off in patch view as well, as i shoot over either the first or the last module all the time.
if i need to make fast changes to a patch i will place my prioritized modules at the beginning or end of a patch for fast and easy access.
