I checked the manual, and the format needed was not listed.
I am trying to get a new USBC drive that I bought to work with the metamodule-
It is not currently being read on the metamodule. Can you help on what formatting is needed?
it is a 65GB ExFat drive.
I remember hearing that there might be a need to format a usb drive in a specific way.
I think there is a chance it needs to be FAT or FAT32. but on windows, i would need to partition or do a hack-work around to get a larger than 32GB partition.
I do have a smaller USB drive that is FAT, that I can get a usb to USBC adapter for… I just need some data before I go down the formatting/ partitioning rabbit hole!
thanks!
FAT32 is best. Thanks for pointing out it’s missing from the manual!

Here is a link to an article on formatting drives larger than 32GB with FAT32 in Windows. There is a free utility that will do the job.

Microsoft has recently dropped the 32GB limitation in the current preview builds of Windows 11, but I don’t think there is a roadmap yet on when that change will be rolled out to the public release versions.
If you are formatting a memory card, this formatting tool is recommended for optimizing performance with such cards.

Super helpful! I had done complex drive partitions many years ago on WinXP, but all the tools I once used that used to be RIGHT THERE are just nowhere to be found…
… and I feel like I have a case of amnesia or being gaslight by microsoft!
RIP WinXP you were ahead of your time.
