Will the maximum module count of 32 be raised at some point?
- Increase max patch file size to 1MB in PR#399
with firmware 1.3.1 - dan raised the patchsize to 1mb ram. i tried loading a patch on mm that had 36 modules (i just duplicated the fundamental cvmix ones a bunch of times) and it seemed to load ok, where before it would give an error. have you tried it?
i haven’t tried this 36module test patch again with the 1.4.1 firmware
I can’t remember whether I tried 1.3.1 with more than 32 modules, but with 1.4.1, a message box pops on loading the patch, saying that the 32 max has been exceeded. Perhaps Dan reverted that for some reason.
just did a quick test again, and yep with 1.4.1 we see the max 32 error. seriously hopefully we can have that max increased!
Still at 32. Yeah, I can increase that!
Here is a beta version with the limit set to 64. Let me know if that’s working!

I think the biggest patch I’ve made so far had maybe a dozen modules and it broke my brain. Very impressed by the folks who are hitting the 32-module limit.

Outside of MM, I regularly have a patch 50 or more modules. Even if I have to trail through the spaghetti sometimes to remind me what was plugged in where, just seeing it all spread out around me is something I can keep in my head.
I’m liking the small-medium patches on MM- fairly quick to navigate and edit, but they add a lot to my system.
those of us who have lived in the vcv world for a while have been quite spoiled with the option to build our 50+module, monster patches. it’s been a nice fun challenge to try and rein it in for mm. definitely forcing me to become a better patch builder
