I was playing with the Karplus Stereo patch. I made some edits, duplicated, and saved it as 2Karplus Stereo. If I go to load patches, I see two named the same, without the “2”. If I load the edited one, I do see my changes in the connections etc. I went back and forth between the 2, and once after loading and hitting play I saw the name up on top showing the 2 at the beginning, but I can make it happen again.
I also tried to duplicate again and save it starting with “2”, but it tells me that name already exists.
Sorry, I know that’s a lot of words to describe something fairly simple!
The name of the patch and the filename are two different things. You can edit the name by clicking the circled “i” button next to the play button. Then you can save the duplicate patch with a different file name.
This is something we are planning to address soon because it’s definitely a little unexpected
Ah ha, thanks for explaining that! It’s a bit cumbersome, but works: rename the patch on the info page, then duplicate and rename it to that same name.
Any possibility of streamlining this? I like to save iterations while editing, just in case, then usually go back and delete the intermediaries once I’m happy with it. I can still easily do that, but unless I do some extra steps every time I wind up with patches that show the same name even though they are different.
