I looked around docs / specs / forum / Google and couldn’t find a clear answer.
What is the difference between the Gate input jacks and Audio/CV input jacks on the MetaModule?
Lower bit rate? Only having on and off?

The gate jacks can only see “high” or “low” while the audio jacks can see any voltage between -10V and +10V.
You can use the audio jacks for gates if you want. But you can’t use the gate jacks for audio (unless it happens to be square waves!)
Thanks for the explanation!
Thanks for the clarification, it does some cool stuff I wasn’t expecting when I was trying to run an audio path through it. Hope that’s not bad for the unit ![]()
i would think it would only be bad if the voltage going into the jack was someone higher than 10v(i.e super loud) but would maybe just clip? not sure what safeguards the mm has on the inputs
I have a little suggestion: Automapping jacks should not map the v/oct or other CV inputs to the gate in of MM.
Yeah, Auto-map all using the Gate jacks can be a problem. But there’s no way for it to know if a jack is 1V/oct or CV. It could try to guess based on the name, but there’s not convention for what name to use. Probably better is to add a user setting to ignore the Gate jacks when doing Auto-Map All.
Thanks for the reply! I see, i would say guessing the name could work quite well. that way you could avoid putting a gate into a cv jack as well. Worth a try id say=)
