It would be awesome if when you click on a parameter, you’re just immediately editing it instead of having to click again on the “Edit Parameter” button. I’m envisioning a long press on the encoder could be used to enter the menu where you can assign control mappings, thus avoiding the double click currently required to edit parameters.
I was jamming with my band using MM the other day and having to click twice both to enter and exit parameter edits was seriously throwing me off, otherwise it was amazing.

I agree that this would be a good change. It might be a valid case for a user preference — some of us are using the encoder in a more performance-oriented way, and we want faster access to parameter changes, whereas others might find it too easy to accidentally tweak a parameter. But I’d definitely make use of this option.
Yeah, this was originally the case: just click a parameter and turn the knob to adjust it. But then as we added more options, we added the extra click.
Maybe a user option? Something like “performance mode” vs. “patch creation mode”? It probably would need to be easily changed from within the patch (not going back to system settings)
Something I’ve been wanting is to have the cursor start on the first available knob set slot, so that you can quickly map the knobs (I do a lot of patch creation on the MM itself). That would make sense in “patch creation mode”.

I like the idea of a “performance mode” option. I feel like it would make sense to put the selector for it in “Maps” section of the patch settings menu.
Like, right above the “Show Control Maps” selector there could be a “Mapping/Performance Mode” selector that would enable or disable the control mapping menu that currently opens when you select a parameter. That way, when you’re in Performance Mode there is no mapping menu to click through, and when you’re in Mapping Mode the cursor starts on first available knob set slot.
