I am looking for a decent full featured Quadraphonic panner. A module with multiple input channels (at least four for “quadraphonic chasing”) that share one set of four outs, Each input channels would be switchable between automatic and manual CV control, basically recreating the abilities of the Intellijel Planar2 and other high end joysticks that process audio also. Automatic abilities to “circle the room” and manual inputs that are Joystick friendly (translating the X/Y into front/back and Left/Right). CV inputs for the automatic mode could control speed and direction (level for speed, polarity for direction). A CV for the “orbit size” would be nice but not necessary (nice for making wild shapes). A channel “offset” control would be nice for the rotating automatic modes so that you can offset the locations between the different channels.
This of course doesn’t have to be only a panner. One could use it to morph a sound, by sending it to different inputs of different effects chains for instance.
I know this can be patched up with a quad VCA and a bunch of external modules like Quadrature LFOs for control, but I would love a dedicated module for this. It would make live quadraphonic shows MUCH easier and more iteresting.
