Hi @danngreen
Thanks for your awesome work.
I can’t send patched to mm through WiFi after updating firmware 2.1.14 and hub 2.1.8.
Used the file with WiFi updater for firmware update.
Hub shows “failed, no response” . WiFi expander button is green. WiFi address is correctly shown on the hub.
Pretty sure that it’s not due to signal quality since it worked perfectly before.
It’s not the first time that this issue happens after an update.
Could you please set a simple way to fix this when it happens?
Thank you.
The “Failed: no response” message is usually due to no connection (e.g. you get it if the computer and expander are on different networks, or the IP is wrong). When I update firmware, and the unit reboots, I often have to power cycle the Wi-Fi to get it to connect. I assume you’ve tried the obvious power-cycling, restarting, etc, does it start working again after you restart the wifi expander?
Or does the Wi-Fi expander still not work after turning everything off and on again?
In general though, I wouldn’t recommend updating the Wi-Fi firmware unless there’s a specific update announced to the Wi-Fi firmware (which we haven’t done in a long time) or you have a brand new unit that was on the dealer shelf for a long time. The updater is supposed to compare the firmware already on the Wi-Fi expander to the one you’re trying to install, and then skip it if it’s the same one. But there’s the potential for a communication error or issue to happen during that process, so I recommend not even attempting to update the Wi-Fi firmware if you don’t need it.
I probably should add a note to the downloads page about that…
Ok. Kapi that. It finally works but needed more than one power cycle…
Yes. A note about that in the downloads page could be useful. Till now I made all the updates with the files including the WiFi updater .
Thanks and Cheers.
