WiFi and OSC

Hi,

Just got my metamodule and I’m looking for reasons to get the WiFi, is Open Sound Control supported, if not, is it planned, OSC would be so cool?

osc is not currently a part of the wifi and not sure if it’s planned. it would be cool! currently the wifi expander just makes it easier and faster to pass ymls from the laptop directly to the mm

Yeah, I’d be awesome to have a UI on a touchscreen controlling the metamodule.

i have had some success controlling the mm from an ipad (and vice versa) with 2 of these:

both of them were connected t ogether using these couplers:

also works well as a midi go between with a laptop and the mm

I found trowaSoft cvOSCcv, this would be very cool.

@danngreen are modules able to access the network to allow modules like cvOSCcv to work over WiFi (I don’t want to buy the WiFi expander if this kind of functionality isn’t going to be possible)?

No, the Wi-Fi connection is used solely by firmware for transferring patch files from a computer. Modules don’t have access to it.

We might be able to add OSC over Wi-Fi support in the future – there are a lot of big features to do first (like multiple USB MIDI devices via hubs, I2C, DIN5/TRS MIDI, RotoController support), but I scanned through some OSC libraries and it seems possible. I don’t know how good/bad the latency will be, but in theory all the hardware is present so it should work.
