Wavetable Synthesis

Crashing Waves: History of Wavetable Synthesizers on PCA

NOTE: For this patch to work, the associated WAV file StargazerWavetables has to be in the same root directory as your patch. Right clicking (or looking in the context menu on MM) is where you load in your own wavetables.

Soundcloud link:

External Audio Routing:
-Main audio outputs on channels 1 and 2

Internal Audio Routing:
-Two wavetable VCOs are mixed together with a stereo mixer

Internal CV Routing:
-An LFO is fed into the position input of both VCOs
-A very small offset is fed into the FM input of oscillator 2, to be used for slight detuning and frequency beating.

MetaModule Mapping:
A - The frequency for both oscillators
B - Wave selection for the first oscillator
C - Wave selection for the second oscillator
D - LFO speed
E - LFO depth for oscillator A wavetable morph
F - LFO depth for oscillator B wavetable morph
U - Detune amount
V - Stereo width (mono to stereo spread of the two oscillators)

This is great. Could you please explain how you created the custom wavetable? Of course there are vast resources online explaining how to make wavetables. I’m just interested to know your process for creating a wavetable with Stargazer. :star_struck:

Thanks for sharing!

The wavetables are the same ones inside the moffenzeef stargazer, not created by it. Their original source is from Adventure kid:

As mentioned in the video, this software is free to use and exports wavetables ready to go for metamodule and VCV rack:
