V2.0.0-dev-13.7 [Sickolooper5]

I think this is a great looper, but it’s a pity that it doesn’t save the samples, even after trying with the save preset + loops.

i haven’t had this problem with the sicko one (or canard). can you describe the exact steps you went through to recreate the issue?

Hi, I’ve been experimenting a lot with the Sickolooper5 inside the MetaModule and I think it’s really great. The only issue is that when I save the patch (directly on the MM) and open it again later, the selected samples are empty. I have the .wav samples stored on the SD card.

For context: I first build the patch in VCV without selecting any samples. Then, inside the MetaModule, I load the samples from the SD card — they play just fine. It’s just the saving part that doesn’t work. (file is attached)

sample machine new.yml (41.8 KB)
sample machine new.vcv (367.0 KB)

I think I found the bug. When you create a new patch directly inside the MetaModule and choose the Sickolooper5, then scroll down, you don’t see the options menu (where you can normally import samples). You also can’t import any samples from there.

However, if you create the Sickolooper5 in VCV first and then load it into the MM to edit, the options menu does appear — but it doesn’t get saved within the MM patch.

With the Sickolooper3, when you use it directly in the MM (without VCV), the options menu initially does appear. But after importing a sample from the SD and saving the patch, then restarting and reopening it, the sample is gone and the options menu has disappeared too.

I really hope this can be fixed, because the MM would be the perfect sampler performance tool for my live rig…

i wonder if the options issue you’re experiencing is maybe related to this bug:

as far as the sample file reference not saving with the patch, possibly @sickozell might have some clues

also have you tried the canard sampler module within the bidoo line? ive had some decent results with that one:

Thanks for the tip! That means the missing “options” must be a system bug and not directly related to the SickoLooper itself.
Still, I’m not able to save any samples within the MM.
I deliberately chose the Sicko because it doesn’t require additional mixers and has a master output for all 5 loopers — super convenient for my setup.

I found a temporary solution to save the imported samples from within the MM using the SickoLooper5. I created a folder with loops on the MM’s SD card, and I export using “save preset + loops” to that folder — which I can then load again later.

I’ve switched to using all the samplers from Voxglitch — they work incredibly well, including the file management. Just save the .yml and all samples are there.
