The Vostok modules are being ported

I love the Vostok line of modules. They just appeared in VCV — and, according to the developer, they’re working on a MetaModule port.

Yes I’ve got a draft PR open here, very early stage. I’ve tried to make the panels more legible.

There is a release build from my machine here:

Things to note: I’ve had to totally disable oversampling for Atlas to get it to work, as it’s basically 4 copies of Ripples (+ extras!). Maybe we can get away with light resampling, as it might be unstable / sound not ideal.

Any early feedback welcome. We’ll be waiting for Jose at Vostok to have a test (he’s not yet set up with MM) before adding a formal release anywhere.

Thanks @hemmer!

To everyone else, I strongly recommend these modules in hardware — their ( functionality + # of channels ) / ( HP + $$ ) ratio is among the best.

Thanks hemmer, I have built a couple of these Vostok modules and it’s nice to have their virtual versions. I am now using the modules on MM now.

Will this work with the latest firmware?

Are these vostok ports completely stable, and getting an official release on 4ms’ site, or are they still only in the preview/testing stages? Thanks! :+1:

There is an issue with Atlas being unstable at high cutoff frequencies (basically we need to run it without oversampling to get CPU anywhere reasonable at the moment, it’s like 4 ripples!). I’d still like to improve that before anything official (or we can do official release without Atlas for now).

I’ve not had any feedback apart from @anDREW (and @Jose_Vostok) tbh, it’s always useful to have beta tester reports.

Ah, I see. Yes, perhaps releasing the other modules officially for now, and atlas later on when/if it can be done to your satisfaction would be best? Maybe that way, more users will use them, and give feedback on how everything else is working.
