I know its not very precise, but I get spontanous freezes using meta with patches that run far below the cpu ceiling. The last one was about 30% and runs fine but after a while freezes, but still makes what it did before, so only the controls and UI is frozen. I assume a power issure or heat problem. Does that make any sense? Is there a way to get a error log when it freezes? can you restart it without cutting the power when this happens? Ill attach the patch, but that happens more or less on every patch after a while in my setup…
Hmm… if the patch is still playing, but the UI and knobs are not responding, that probably means the coprocessor is frozen/crashed. The coprocessor is in charge of the USB drive, USB MIDI, SD card, Wi-Fi expander, Button expander, and the jack/cable sensing feature of the Audio expander (but not the actual audio i/o). If you can change one of those things and see if the problem still happens, that might pinpoint it.
If you’re using MIDI, then try a different controller or not using MIDI. Also try turning off MIDI Feedback, that’s an easy thing to try first. If you’re using a USB drive or SD card, try a different drive or card. If you’re using expanders, see if disconnecting the expander makes it not happen.
