Now that MM is in a good place. May I suggest we have a 4 or 6 track song machine. It should go something like this (all patches are clocked to Track 1):
- Track 1 - Patch 1 (could be ambient start)
- Track 2 - Patch 2 (could be drums)
- Track 3 - Patch 3 (comes in the bassline)
- Track 4 - Patch 4 (comes in the melody)
Besides using expander module to mute/solo, I am thinking we should be able to affect the knob sets per track using some smart menu system. We could also use Elektron Song mode to specify which track no. to follow which track no., no. of iterations and other states, etc.
The biggest gain I see here is not having to mess with “complete” patches, to work on refining existing patches without having to worry how it impacts other residing modules, help with focus; and work on other aspects of the song like drums and melodies which can be managed separately. Not sure if CPU is up to the job though.
