Quick MIDI mapping

Hi!

When mapping MIDI to parameters, the process could be streamlined. Currently it is (off the top of my head) roughly:

-Navigate to parameter
-two encoder ’steps’ to navigate to midi
-press encoder to enter mapping
-turn midi cc knob to learn parameter (nice!)
-Press confirm
-navigate away from MIDI mapping of said parameter using back button
-navigate to next parameter to map next parameter

In my dreams, it could be something like:

-Enter MIDI map mode
-navigate to parameter, no click needed
-turn MIDI CC knob → modal asks to confirm mapping of said CC to the parameter
-Click confirm
-move on to next parameter

I know it seems small, but I’ve noticed that small stuff like this decreases the inertia to use certain features and adds up to usable modules where complex functions feel accessible.

Thanks for considering.

Yeah, that’s a good idea. It could also work for mapping to physical knobs: you would just wiggle a knob while hovering a parameter.

Would be super-fast way to map a patch. To add a map in new knob set (not for midi), it could let you use the Button+Rotary combo to move to an empty knobset.

I’m filing this under the category of Edit mode vs. Performance mode.
