loved using this one a lot in veeseevst (the original vcv vst plugin!). a pretty amazing oscillator module!
(rip paul schreiber…)
Oh! it is wonderful. TY
@etcetc I assume you had some dialogue with the developer before this was ported? I’m curious as to what their response was and whether they supported porting this module to the MM.
He died a couple of weeks ago…
(removed some snark…)
Yes, I know the developer of the hardware died (RIP). But do you know who is the developer and maintainer of the E Series plugins? I understand that they had an exclusive license agreement with Paul for the plug-ins.
Oh, sorry, I meant Paul.
i would assume he did, he’s been really good about getting confirmation with the devs…
Hey, good question - there’s some confusion I think on the Synthesis Technology plugins. There’s actually two repos:
I ported the latter - the former is a VCV exclusive - I don’t have the code and I couldn’t port it even if I wanted to.
The latter has only this Cloud Terrarium, licensed under GPL 3.0 - GNU General Public License v3.0 or later | Software Package Data Exchange (SPDX) - which I ported here.
I reach out to every plugin maintainer that I do a port of as a courtesy, but some of them have not updated their repositories or or been active for over four years (including this one). I can take it down if I get a no in the response, but not sure how else to get in touch and would prefer to share the port in the meanwhile since the license permits anyways.
I asked because VCV itself is listed as the author and maintainer of the E340 plug-in, the same as for the listings for the premium Synthesis Technologies modules sold by VCV. So I was interested if they had responded with their thoughts with respect to the E340 port to MM. The E340 is included in the core set of modules included with the free version of Rack (at least it was when I installed my version of Rack), presumably as an enticement for people to purchase the other modules.
Yeah you’re right. I didn’t put two and two together - I thought it was a separate maintainer - I’ll reach out to the VCV email and ask.
Update: Andrew got back to me, said it’s okay.
