From a performative perspective. Is it possible to provide some form of patch management. For example i string modules a b c and i want to clone it and make another using a b c and d. Then i will clone more and next comes the question how can i morph or transit/jump between patches. Like em’ song mode?
You can duplicate a patch. So make a patch with a b c, then do File Menu > Duplicate and then add module D
Well, it’s not ideal but you can change patches with the encoder with a few clicks. You can load and play a patch, then while that’s going, load the next patch, but don’t play it. The first patch will keep playing. Then when you want to transition, you click the button and it plays the new patch. It’s not automatic, but it’s pretty intuitive to do.
There is a feature request to use MIDI Program changes to change patches, but I haven’t figured out how you would tell it what patches you want to load for which MIDI PC numbers. Maybe just some filename convention. Also not everyone uses MIDI, so some sort of CV control.
We are talking about enabling this over I2C, but again not everyone has I2C modules…
I could see a “Play List” feature that you set up a chain of patches, and then you re-purpose the Gate In 1 jack so that when you fire a gate, it plays the next patch.
Thanks for the reply. My MM is still on the way. Yep i have an F8R with i2C.
i don’t personally use i2c. really love the playlist/gate triggers next in playlist idea- would definitely use that during certain live sets! is that is in fact implemented, hopefully there will be ability to trigger via midi there as well
