Am I correct that the only way to change a switch position is to either map the switch to a knob or to MIDI? If yes, will the functionality change when the button expander module is available? Will you be able to map a button to a switch to change its position?
In my Eurorack system, I have a set of arcade buttons that output a high gate signal when pressed. I looked to see if there was a way to map one of the inputs on the MetaModule to a switch but didn’t see that as an available option. On a frequently used switch (like the model change button on the Plaits clone) it would be easier to toggle the switch via a button or switch vs turning a knob back and forth.
Maybe this issue resolves itself once the button expander is available. Or maybe there is already existing functionality that I have not found yet?
I will note that some modules have jack inputs that control certain switches. So for example on the Plaits clone, there is a “Model” input that you can map to a jack on the MetaModule, and you can connect a CV source to the jack and use that to select the model. That’s a little easier than turning an assigned knob left and right 9 times.
