No Wi-Fi Module Found

My Wi-Fi Module suddenly seems to have stopped working. I believe it was working on v1.6.7, but it stopped and has the error message “No Wi-Fi Module Found” on the Info page.

I have updated to v1.6.8, and tried this a few times, but still same problem.
I have checked to make sure the Red stripe is pointing the same way on both ends of the Wi-Fi MetaModule cable. And it is definitely connected to the Wifi header (I haven’t remove the MM for its position for a while, so it should not have been the issue)
The Wi-Fi Module has power connected, and I am certain the socket it is placed into has power.

I had the same thing happen and I realized the Wifi module URL address had changed, so I had to update it in MM and in my browser.

I don’t believe that is the cause. The message is on the Settings - Info screen of the MM, this is where you would usually have the URL, but there is no URL, just the message “No Wi-Fi Module Found”

I have tried to do a reset by holding Wi-Fi Expander button while repowering, but the light remains light blue, never goes to red.

Did you try to reprovision the WiFi adapter?

Yes, I tried reprovisioning via the app, but it doesn’t show up. See image below, this is what happened after pressing the Searching for BLE devices is complete.

When I update firmware, it displays “No WiFi Expander”

I don’t have the answer but you might want to try (at your own risk) to downgrade the firmware or go back to original firmware then repeat the steps to how you got WiFi working.

All signs are pointing to the WiFi Expander not working. The light looks white, is that true or is it just the photo? It should be green, cyan, or red.
Also, powering up with the button held down will override any firmware or connection you have to the MetaModule. Doing that should go into provision mode. Try disconnecting it from power and the MetaModule and use a different power cable. Then power it up by itself with the button down and see if you can get the light to go red or cyan.
If not, then email us with your serial number and we’ll figure out how to get a replacement/repair for you.
