I want to use the x0x drums with my Oxi One. Like many other drum sequencers, the Oxi’s multitrack sequencer sends different pitches from different tracks by default, so it would be great to have a way to get triggers from different pitches in the Meta and rout them to the x0x modules.
I can’t see an easy way to do this. One option would be to set up a bunch of comparators, but that’d be fiddly and fragile, and it would require a lot of modules. and there’s no window comparator in Meta (I think?) so you’d need some complicated routing.
So it’d be great if the x0x plugin included a module for this purpose – it takes a v/oct CV signal and fires triggers from different outputs for different chromatic pitches.
(In the meantime I can set up the Oxi to use a different MIDI channel for each sequencer lane and distribute the triggers by channel in the Meta, but that also requires a lot of modules and feels clumsy.)
I sold my OXI One last week. I really thought it was an amazing sequencer, but for me there was one major downside: I couldn’t save enough projects — only 16 projects and 128 patterns. Personally, I would’ve preferred it the other way around: something like 128 projects and 32 patterns.
This really became a limitation for me, especially now that I’m producing more and working on multiple projects.
I’ve now switched to using the OP–XY as my sequencer, which also has a velocity-sensitive keyboard. And of course, it’s also a great sampler — perfect for use on the go.
Yes, I know there’s a MKII now and Manual (the creator) is a passionate person who responds quickly on the OXI forum, but unfortunately they weren’t able to expand the number of projects. They did add more templates later on, but what I really needed was more project slots…
You got to decide if you want to upgrade. The MK2 is in my radar as well as the Neuzeit Instruments Drop but I think we are digressing from topic already.
