Loading spinner stuck, unable to load patches

occasionally randomly in the file menu, when i load a patch the screen freezes and the spinner appears and gets stuck. i can then use the back button to navigate out of the file menu, but after that, i am unable to load any new patches. from this point on, if i try and load a patch the screen gets stuck (the rotary knob stops working) but i can still use the back button to navigate out of the file menu. the mm will be stuck in that behavior, not allowing me to load any new patches, until powering off/on the mm.

seems to have started occurring after installing firmware 1.2.1

vid shows the stuck spinner then screen locking up when trying to load patch:

after the initial loading spinner/screen freeze, i then cannot load patches (mm screen seems to freeze until i press back button):

note: all the while this file lock up behavior is happening, the previous loaded/currently running patch still plays audio in the background so the mm is still working, just not the file system.

Hmm, does removing the USB drive or SD Card, and then re-inserting it make a difference? It almost looks like it’s trying to refresh from those drives and cannot read for some reason.

will try and investigate that more when i can and report back here!

and now that im remembering back, i noticed that this spinner/locking up issue was occurring more readily while testing a patch that required the use of a midi keyboard (korg nanokey 2)… and at times the usb drive was not recognized at all when plugging the drive in right after unplugging the keyboard (im using the included usb c-a adapter btw). but the mm would finally recognize the drive after i several times unplugged the drive then plugged it back in. i think maybe it was at that point, randomly, the spinner would get stuck. anyway, hope that gives more clues.

ok i think ive traced the ‘mm not recognizing the thumb drive at times’ issue to the usb c>a adapter having become a bit faulty after, i guess, so many plugs/unplugs of the thumbdrive/midi keyboard. tried the faulty adapter on the 2nd mm and sure enough the problem started there as well. im working now w the 2nd mm’s adapter, that i haven’t used much and the problem has not occurred again once w the 2nd adapter. maybe it’s safe to assume the stuck loading spinner was a result of the faulty adapter giving the mm problems mounting the thumb drive.

This happened to me as well. I thought the card had become corrupted, so I tried a new card and then went back to the old one, which worked fine.
