It seems like there’s no way to create patterns or turn steps on and off on the Meta Module. It’s a shame because it’d be great to have a simple lightweight step sequencer like this — the others all seem to be much more full-featured which makes them harder to program on the Meta. Hopefully a future version of the plugin can give us access to the full feature set.
Addendum: obviously part of the issue is that the module depends on a custom display of the kind that the Meta Module can’t yet reproduce. But I expected that the steps would still be editable on the Meta, could be assigned to knobs, etc.
i believe for the fundamental vcv quantizer, on the mm the 12 notes just show up as buttons you can press. i feel like that would also be useful for this trg module on the mm
Unfortunately the whole module works on mouse clicks and on a custom drawn display, neither of these are currently possible on the Meta Module.
When and if these requirements become available to MM plugins I’ll certainly look into it.
as one who builds solely in vcv, i am personally ok with the limited ui/ux for modules directly on the mm. we could then see ones like mindmeld’s amazing shapemaster, or voxglitches stuff ported over more easily. this would cause struggle for those wishing to only work directly on the mm, but the benefit would still far outweigh the negatives imho.
