I sometimes notice values changing even when pots are not moved – is it just my unit, or could there possibly be a case for adjusting hysteresis?
It’s happening to mine as well…
I can’t figure out why.
ive noticed this before on mine, but i can’t seem to reproduce it stably. seems to usually happen randomly after opening a patch and turning a knob, others values then might jump. or when im switching between knob sets, it can occur.
this should probably be posted in bug reports and not here in general.
Fair point about the forum — it’s just a bit unclear to me whether this actually constitutes a bug.
If I’m on the right track, the ”noise tolerance” of the knobs is set to a very low level. It’s a balancing act. But I might be in the weeds
Potentiometers send values currently dialled so will update /“jump” between knob sets if knobs have been adjusted/disturbed from last recorded position.A request for “pickup” behaviour option has been noted by Dan and is promised to be addressed in the full V2 release of firmware, which will be soon I hope.
Okay, nice, that’s another really good feature! This is slightly different though, and could be a nice complement to pickup behavior.
I am experiencing this as well.
im hoping it can be added soon. the knobs jumping is a big pain point, causes a lot of unwanted audio issues on stage when swapping between many patches. pickup mode will definitely help solve this hysteresis.
2 completely different things being discussed here…
Yeah. Pickup mode or not, this is a separate point of discussion.
@jsk @Zymos, guys … the way data is handled from the pots is being looked at and any required adjustments will be applied in the V2 firmware, this I was told will include alt behaviour options, so not really a separate convo. We’ve all jumped onboard early in the evolution of this great piece of kit and I’m prepared to be a little forgiving of a few wrinkles whilst any bugs are fixed. I say wait for V2 and with the current pace of updates that shouldn’t be long
We have the same agenda here – looking to contribute to a great module. This is def. a minor thing
