Is there really no cv recording plug-in available?

Or am I overseeing something? I would like to record joystick cv joystick gestures. Seems to be a functionality that fits quite well in a 4ms meta.

there seem to a few under ‘recording’ in metamodule.info finder !?

and that section does not include some that I know can record cv
e.g. marbles can, so Id expect the marbles clone can too

though in fairness its not its primary function.

also bare in mind, some may be labelled as loopers, and these may be capable of both AC (audio) and DC (cv) depending on implementation.

I always wished for something more precise like stoermelder ReMOVE Lite for Meta VCV Library - stoermelder ReMOVE Lite . It would be a no-brainer to add a 8 track fader recorder for the 8 knobs on Meta. Super basic and with a reset option - and if dreaming further - with a sync input.

There’s a module called fax by fehler fabric specifically for cv recording. I haven’t used it but it’s in there. Good luck.

New module LOP from RobotBoy works Perfectly for CV also !

I developed that module and this never occurred to me. I am a prisoner of the false consciousness that imagines that audio is a fundamentally different thing from CV and not just “the same thing but faster”

Your LöP module is what I was looking for a long time, it’s so great and simple for CV recording.

I did this patch that I’m using non-stop for several days now.

It’s 8 LöP modules, that I use to record 2 CV line (because LöP is stereo) with each Module from 8VERT modules (where knob are assigned to midi controller).

I’m using the Novation LaunchControl XL as midi controller (1 “channel” per LöP module).

For each “channel” of the Novation XL :

  • row 1 knob : assign to one 8VERT knob, to Record Param1 (Left Channel Input of LöP)
  • row 2 knob : unused
  • row 3 knob : assign to one 8VERT knob, to Record Param2 (Right Channel Input of LöP)
  • Fader : DRY/WET on the LöP
  • row 1 button : clear
  • row 2 button : record

So now I have 8x2 CV recording :slightly_smiling_face: . I hit “Record”, then record live 2 CV loop at the same time, hit “Record” again and that’s it. The fader “DRY/WET” is very usefull too. And I can “Clear” at any moment and do it again.

I post my patch if it can be usefull for someone else. I think that I use the “standard” User 1 template on the Novation XL.

This is so cool! I would never have imagined someone using the module in this way. That’s what’s so great about modular!

If you can think of any features that would make Löp work better as a CV recorder, let me know.

Oh also be sure to check out one-shot mode if you want recordable envelopes rather than recordable LFOs
