I was using Wifi expander and tweaking patches in VCV Rack and sending the updated patches to MM. Then I noticed that the mapping pages had old names and even showed pages I’d deleted. So I deleted Meta Module from my patch in VCV and reloaded a fresh plugin and re-mapped the controls. After transferring this new patch, the old mappings were showing up again, including some mapping pages that didn’t even exist. I transferred the patch a couple times to make sure it said that the file was sent. The only thing that fixed it was to remove the file from the SD card and re-transfer it without overwriting.
Made me think that either the file was not being overwritten, or there was some caching going on that wasn’t released with the new file.
Anyways, thought I should mention it. I was in a hurry so wasn’t able to be very thorough documenting the exact steps.
Interesting. I few questions if you can remember:
- Were the old mappings functioning? That is, if you turned the panel knob would the wrong module knob turn?
- Did you try switching knob sets on the MetaModule? If so, what happened?
- Did you see the wrong mappings on the patch view page (the page with all the module in the patch), displayed as colored rings around the mapped knobs?
- Or did you just see the wrong mappings on the Knob Maps page (the page with the twelve arcs showing the mappings in a knob set)?

the mappings were not functioning
I think I tried switching sets, but the mappings seemed disconnected. Not sure about every map but I did try several.
I didn’t check the knobs in the patch view. I think in one case, the knob that it was supposed to be mapped to wasn’t even in the patch at all.
Just saw the wrong mappings in the Knobs Maps page
I was in a hurry yesterday, but if it happens again, I’ll definitely spend some time referring back to these questions and sorry I didn’t have time yesterday!
