How do you find which modules to use?

My “workflow” to find what I need has been:
Go to the plugin section
Click on the vcv library page for each plugin
Read or ctrl +f the fuction I need.

Is there a better way, or can I search by the whole meta library?

Module Finder!

Thank you very much. Could we add a “date added” or a date of availability on MM? With filter, it would be ideal to add the latest modules available.

BTW, I did not find Moffenzeef in the all_plugins.zip file. I had to download it from the dev link.

It should be in the plugins now

I think we could do “Date released” based on the date the plugin maintainer released it. But figuring out which modules have been added in a given release would be a lot more complicated.

Is there anyway to date the all_plugins.zip file so we can see if we have the latest version?

Every 2 months, I open all the plug-ins in a new tab (except Airwindows), which is quite a lot. And I check that the plug-in has been added to my VCV rack account, specifically created for MM.

Is ModuleFinder missing the RackCore modules? I was trying to find scopes and couldn’t see the RackCore one.

Hi, the Scope was moved to the Fundamental plugin in the current v2 firmware. But , yes, it seems the Scope is not included in the Module Finder at the moment. Neither are the RackCore modules - I am guessing that is because they are kind of a proof of concept only and do not have VCV Rack plugin versions?.

Right, we moved Scope to the Fundamental plugin (where it came from originally) but I forgot to update the metadata. I’m pushing the fix now.

And RackCore, that’s correct, too: we haven’t considered them really “official” modules, but probably at this point we should. I’ll make an issue to add them. The CPU use depends on the MIDI traffic, so it’s not too useful to see a measurement in the ModuleFinder for these, but nice to have them just for completeness.
