Hallloween patch challenge

How about a challenge for the spookiest Halloween patch? Dan could pick the winner with the prize a WiFi expander!

We need to lay the ground rules. It could be a monthly thematic challenge. Where the winner picked (by random algorithm) from the preceding month will set the theme for the following month (with some basic rules and bonus goals).

For example, Oct 2024: to submit a track using MM to create spook and in the spirit of Halloween. No paid modules. Bonus goal: not more than 4 modules (utility modules such as mixers don’t count). Last date of submission: 31 October 2024.

Basically we need a category and an organiser to keep this going. It will certainly help spur members to learn to use MM more and up their game in modular world.

Sounds good. Is that how VCV Rack organises their community challenges? We might need to set the sample rate, too.

A template to help clarify with the requirements will be good. Additionally the winner can put up two themes and a poll to gauge level of interest and help determine which one to use. If there is sufficient interest, you may even organise a group listening session to review the tracks submitted. Just saying.

I think the problem will be getting sufficient interest. There aren’t many folk submitting patches yet.

Yup yup. Why not just start it anyway and go with the flow. Things never really go to plan does it  lead the way by showing us your track (not just YML or VCV patch) on MM (Halloween).

I might frighten (or, more likely, bore) the pants off everyone, but, hey, someone’s got to do it!
