Fundamental - Quantizer - Not saving selected button states

I did notice a couple related bugs/issues on the Fundamental - Quantizer. The issue is still exists, I am adding steps to reproduce and a sample patch. I am using the Firmware v2.2.0 and the latest version of the plugins.

Quant test.yml (1.3 KB)

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create ‘New Patch’

  2. Add ‘Fundamental - Quantizer’ module

  3. Disable ‘B’ note

  4. ‘Save’ patch

  5. ‘Reload’ patch

Results: ‘B’ note is displayed as enabled after saving and reloading the patch.

Expectation: ‘B’ note disable as in the saved state version

On Fundamental plugin v2.2.1 and firmware v2.2.0, I’m not reproducing this.

Just to make sure, by “Disable” B note you mean to click the Adjust button and then press and release the rotary click to make the B light turn grey.

After doing that and saving the patch via the File Menu, and then choosing Reload, the B button stays grey. Also, rebooting and loading the saved patch has the B button load as grey.

The attached patch loads with the B button enabled (red) for me, but if I turn the B button grey and then save, it reloads still grey.

  • Yeah I am just ‘releasing’ one note so that I can change the state from default to save the change.

  • Hmm… I was thinking I should ‘Factory Reset’ and get a good inital state? That just resets the internal settings correct?

Factory Reset resets your preferences and the patches stored on the Internal drive (FLASH RAM). I wouldn’t think that would be related, but I don’t know what’s going on yet.

Is it just Button B that has this problem, or do all the buttons do it?

Another thing to try: if it’s an issue with saving somehow, could you do “Duplicate” instead of “Save”? Then see if the second copy opens OK.

I first noticed the issue when I had duplicated a large patch as I wanted to make a few iterations. When playing the duplicated patch, it did not play correctly and I saw that the quantizer had lost my settings and was on its initial settings. I then reproduced the issue with just that single module.

The issue does not seem to be related in a single button. I my case I had the quantizer set to all sharps/flats. On load/reload of the patch all notes were selected.

It’s kinda of strange bug. I tried reloading patches and even powering on/off to see if it would still reproduce.

Ok, thanks
I’ll try harder! And to confirm: you have Fundamental v2.2.1?

Yes on Fundamental v2.2.1

I will take another look into reproducing and see if I missed something…

I think I see my confusion around the issue. The buttons have two set states: pressed and released.

The UI displays three states:

  • Red (definitely pressed)
  • Black (appears and acts released while the patch is running but text displays pressed. On reloading it’s actually pressed displays pressed)
  • Grey (definitely released).

I can get it to reproduce while feeding a LFO into the quantizer and switching the button states.
