Footwork Patch with SickoSampler

NOTE: For this patch to work in its entirety, you need to download the WAV file from Soundcloud and load into the Sickozell SickoSampler.

This patch highlights the use of new features included with MetaModule version 2. Samples can now be loaded into modules directly from the options menu. Companies like SickoCV have developed some excellent, in-depth sampler modules.

This particular sampler is ideal for one-shots and ROMpler-style applications, where you want to use a single WAV file and adjust the pitch, start/end times, and loop points. You can also apply an ADSR envelope, emulating the behavior of classic keyboard samplers from the days of yore.

A 16-step sequencer with a preloaded sequence is provided, with slots 2–16 left blank for you to create your own patterns. The pattern selection knob allows you to switch patterns when the current one completes, keeping everything in sync with the main clock.

External Audio Path:

  • Main audio outputs are on channels 1 and 2.

Internal CV Path:

  • The Count is the master clock module, keeping the CV sequencer, gate sequencer, and accent modules in sync.
  • The Drum Gate Sequencer sequences all of the drum modules in the patch.
  • The SEQ3 CV sequencer modulates the pitch of the macro oscillator.

Internal Audio Path:

  • The Rimshot and Maraca modules each have dedicated accent modules, pulsed with quarter notes.
  • All sound sources are mixed together using two daisy-chained Moffenmix modules, which add beef and crunch to the overall mix.

MetaModule Knob Mappings:

  • A – Hold up (mute kick and engage snare pattern)
  • B – Kick Decay
  • C – Kick Pitch
  • D – Sample Start Time
  • E – Sample Pitch
  • F – Sequence Select
  • U – Kick Volume
  • V – Snare Volume
  • W – Clap Volume
  • X – Rimshot Volume
  • Y – Maraca Volume
  • Z – Sample Volume
