Dronish Melay 4msDLD

Dronish Melay
I’m running this on v1.41 48/256 at 80%

Not much melodic generation here, the focus is on the incredible 4ms Dual Looping Delay.

Core 4ms components are the 4ms DLD, Rotating Clock Divider and two HPF. There are 4 variants: Dronish Melayb, Dronish Melay2b, Dronish Melay3b, Dronish Melay4b, all slightly different settings. The system can feedback wildly so keep your speakers on low and dont leave this patch running unattended as it can take off. Anyway, fiddle with the first page of nobs and find interesting sweet spots. Each patch is basically a different starting point.

v3b works it’s way into a Zimmer like sonic monster. To keep it from blowing up, use knobs B, E, z on the second page of knobs to keep a hand on things - but be aware it’s an unruly beast and don’t blame me if your speakers break.

No idea how close the DLD is to the hardware but it looks DEEP. https://4mscompany.com/media/LD/manual/LoopingDelay-manual-v1.0.pdf

For anyone interested in the hardware, there’s a long 70 page discussion on modwiggler: New modules: 4ms Sampler & 4ms Looping Delay - MOD WIGGLER

Muck about, watch your levels and enjoy - and please post any interesting iterations of this 4ms DLD patch.

As ever max kudos to Dan and 4ms for giving us all these incredible sonic gifts.

very nice! ty for sharing and looking forward to digging into these.

lately im trying to wrap my little brain around the big DLD, i just posted some questions about it over here:

im curious if you might be able to answer any of those?

Sadly I don’t own the hardware either so can’t assist. From what I’m getting so far, the DLD very much interacts with the surrounding elements, so patching clocks and filters into the signal paths and controls has a significant impact on what happens. Key seems to be finding ways to control the chaos.

gotcha, yeah im loving the send/return architecture in this module- super fun!
