Hi again,
It would be great if the values of the knobs could display other values apart from a percentage.
So maybe a way to set up the scale and units, like 0 to 100% could be scaled to 0 to 12 and the unit semitones.
Also bipolar knobs?
Cheers

+1 to this.
Here’s an example: I want to adjust the length parameter in Orca’s Heart. It means something very specific: How many notes make up a sequence? On VCV Rack, it goes from “1 steps” to 64 steps. On MM, it goes from 0% to 100%, which means I have to do math to set a specific number of steps.
Percentages work OK for something like a filter cutoff frequency, where the difference between 62% and 64% is relatively minor. But the difference between a sequence with 15 steps and a sequence with 16 steps is very significant!
A related request: The page that shows information about a specific knob — the page i see when I click on a knob within the knob view — should show the numeric value of that knob! Currently it shows the value in the form of a graphic, but not the percentage value.
In case anyone finds this thread by searching and wants to know how to set length values in Orca’s Heart, here’s how the percentages map onto some length values:
1: 0%
2: 1-2%
3: 3%
4: 4-5%
5: 6-7%
6: 8%
7: 9-10%
8: 11%
9: 12-13%
10: 14-15%
11: 16%
12: 17-18%
13: 19%
14: 20-21%
15: 22-23%
16: 24%
17: 25%
...
32: 49%
33: 50%
+1 this would indeed be useful!!
I’m making the framework for this for v2.0, since this would be an API change for the plugins. It shouldn’t be a problem to copy the same way Rack displays parameter values.
Thanks for being transparent with all this stuff. There’s a lot of things on the list, and you guys are knocking them out at a rapid clip!
