DEstrOy ThEm my rOBOts - New MM audio mangling tools

Ok - I got the go ahead from the DestroyFX developers to adapt some of their best sound manglers for MM & VCV and make them freely available under the GPLv2 licence.

PLEASE READ BEFORE DOWNLOADING

  1. These are vibe-coded, but still required a lot of effort around testing and design. I’m not a dev and do not claim to be!
  2. If I’ve missed something then politely let me know on here - don’t be gatekeepery or weird about it. I’m just trying to help the community make nutty sounds.
  3. If vibe-coded stuff offends you, you are free of your own will to not install or use them.
  4. VCV is Arm64 Mac only, as that’s all I can test on. If you can get a PC / Intel version working and want me to add then I’m open to that.
  5. I’ve tested them and they work pretty well but…
  6. They are weird, the originals are weird so its hard to tell if they are 100% accurate but they sound great to my ears
  7. Please feel free to develop them further!

Ok, now that’s all said and done - go play with your new robot alien friends…

AMAZING TY! these are some of the earliest vst plugins i ran across about 25 yrs ago. still often use transverb and skidder vsts in my works to this day. thanks for porting+sharing!

if you ever get a wild hair, i’d also recommend checking out (for porting consideration?) the open sourced “dtblkfx” skullzy/DtBlkFx: Fast-Fourier-Transform (FFT) based VST plug-in - Codeberg.org - an insane fft mangling powerhouse.

also a dinosaur in the era of destroyerfx, i first ran across it around '03 using jeskola buzz:

and then darrell tam later ported it (i believe mostly the same codes?) to vst… a powerful, vintage sound design relic for sure!

Nice! Will check that out - could make a good addition to the robot army  .

Hope you enjoy them - have been able to run at 96khz at around 50 - 60%

So great that MM allow us to bring these beasts to Eurorack.

indeed a huge boon to have these in hardware form now.

soundhack are also amazing vintage manglers.. i remember i had to stop using them overall way back when due to a lot of crashes on windows, but perhaps they’re much more stable now. looking fwd to trying them out again in the mm-verse!

no doubt! would surely be utter madness on the mm at that point :scream: . i remember dtblkfx running quite lean in buzz tracker on my first laptop back in the early 00’s so i would think the mm cpu could handle it with a breeze. although the vst offers multiple ‘lanes’ each able to utilize one of 25 different fft mangling modes, the module would maybe have to be a single lane with selection for all the various modes in the options section. who knows…

The tests have run pretty well so far. Also found a few warped modulation plugins that I’m looking to add soon too.
