CLEAT performance setup suggestions

Hey all,

I was asked to do a performance for the Elastic Arts CLEAT series in Chicago in December. For those who aren’t aware it’s a performance space that has a 16 channel speaker system. I picked up the audio expander module for my meta module recently and am planning on using the meta module as the main mixer. I’m planning on using my Music Easel, Morophagene, and logic with about 8 individual outs. What would you all recommend the best way to setup roughly 10 ins and animate them independently across 16 independent outs? I’ve had success doing a quad performance a few years ago using 4 fundamental vca mix modules and then sending a few bogaudio octature lfos to move the individual tracks around. But I’d like a bit more control if that is possible. IDK… any help is greatly appreciated. And feel free to ask for clarification. I can be horrible at explaining things.

I like mixing in 7.1 surround, and one strategy I use is assigning DELAY sends to surround speakers and REVERB sends to the rears. Maybe parallel send of your main audios thru FX and selective aiming?

Oh I like that idea a lot

You mention using Logic, have you tried Logic’s built in Surround Panner or 3D Object Panner?

I haven’t actually. Would I ba able to send to multiple outputs?

I believe it can be setup to send to different channels of the mixer. I must admit I haven’t had a chance to use it yet (will soon now though since I recently got Logic as part of the Creative Studio). More info can be found here though. - https://support.apple.com/guide/logicpro/surround-panner-overview-lgcp70a62f51/mac

Apparently it can use both mono or stereo inputs.
