In the manual it says the following
“Like knob maps, button maps belong to a Knob Set. Changing the Knob Set will change the button mappings, just as it changes the knob mappings.”
I am trying to apply the above in VCV but when I change the knob set in metamodule module the metabutton mappings are remaining the same.
Please enable in VCV the assignment of different button maps when changing knob sets.
Is there a way to switch the knob set in the VCV module in VCV Rack? That seems like the natural way to handle it, but I don’t see an option for that in the drop downs.
Do you mean with the buttons? I dont think you can do that.
When I am using the button module in VCV Rack, I don’t see an option to change knob set for the buttons and changing the nob set in the meta module vcv rack module doesn’t change the button module knob set.
It works as expected IRL. When I change knob set, the button set changes with it.
Maybe I’m missing an option or configuration in VCV Rack?
Well this is exactly what my feature request is about.
Exactly! It isn’t just you having the problem.
Sorry, yes that’s a bug in the VCV Rack plugin. I’ll fix it for the next VCV release.
Thanks Dan! It’s awesome watching Meta Module evolving with each release.
Ok, I fixed this in the rack plugin v2.1.4. Button Expanders now change their knob set when the knobset is changed using any Hub module.
If you’re eager to use this before it gets pushed to the VCV Library, you can use v2.1.4-rc1:
Hallo
Is there a way to operate a switch in a module that has more than 2 positions with the button expander? As example the Topographic Delay. I check this in VCV but can’t found a solution for this behavior.
Thanks
For now you’ll need to map these switches to a knob rather than a button.
Hi, I recently purchased the button expander + AIO and am just checking if the 2.1.4 release will be on VCV eventually or if it’s something that has to be downloaded from Github above. Looking forward to being able to use the expander but am happy to wait for the convenience of a VCV native install so I don’t mess anything up. Also noticed the GitHub is called v2.1.4-rc1 but the included assets are all 2.1.3 - (im a novice with GitHub and stuff but want to make sure before I try the wrong option)
Oh yes, it’ll be in the VCV Library soon.
Here’s the official v2.1.4:
awesome, thank you Dan! looking forward to trying the buttons with the Ondas 5 channel gate seq. edit - Just loaded up the git version and the button set functionality works great!
Good to hear!
v2.1.4 is now on the VCV Library.
