Is there any way to turn off auto patch playing on bootup?

No, besides removing the drive that has the patch (doesn’t work if it’s on the Internal drive)

Ability to set default startup patch

i know we have the ‘last patch we were running for about a minute = startup patch’ feature but that might not be the patch we want to have at startup. or the last patch we were experimenting with might freeze at startup, or use a lot of samples and take forever to load, etc. could be useful if a startup.yml file is in the root folder, the mm would only ever autoload that. and if startup.yml isn’t present, it would just use current behavior and auto load the last patch we were fooling around with…

The “startup.yml” idea sounds like something I would use personally, but I worry it might not be discoverable for people not on this forum (or not reading through the manual).

There could be an option in the Prefs page:

Startup playing:
[Last patch that was played]
[Manually selected Startup patch: “usb:/my-live-set-1”]
[Nothing]

If the middle option is selected (Manual), then there would be a File Menu option appearing on all patches called “Set as Startup Patch” (or “Unset as Startup patch” if it’s already set).

+1 for those options! Having the “nothing” option would also be great, at least in my case, for testing through sample heavy patches that take a while to load (suppose an empty yml could also suffice)
