Most of the new 4ms VCV Rack modules are pretty straightforward, and the ports of existing hardware modules have manuals. But I’m a bit puzzled by the FM module [VCV Library - 4ms FM].
Does anyone understand what the parameters do? I’m probably just an FM n00b but I don’t get the P and S inputs, or the Ratio C and Ratio S knobs.
I’ve not played with it, but from the source (and here) Ratio C is Coarse and Ratio F is Fine (more precise tuning of the operations).
V/oct P input is the primary pitch, and V/oct S is the secondary pitch (will use Coarse+Fine if S not patched).
So basically you can control the pitch of carrier and modulator by either a) 2 x pitch CV inputs or b) 1 x pitch CV + combination of knob settings (I think!).
