4ms complex EG

High,

I really like this module. It could be compared to the DAHDSR from bogaudio without the delay option. But I think that the behaviour of the Hold parameter is more correct than the one fo the bogaudio module since its duration is not gatelength sensitive. BUT…
Parameter knobs should really act as an attenuator when cv in is patched. It even not act as an offsetter. So, when full power cv is patched in, knot doesnt act at all. And the lengths of its stages is really short at its maximum state. Its also imossible to achiev slow motion modulation for slow evolving soundscape or generative music.

The request are:

  • Parameter knobs acting as attenuator when cv,s ins are patched

  • Increase the length capabilities of the stages, maybe also with an extra switch “slow-fast”.

Thanks.
Denis

I agree that it might be useful to get stages longer than 1s.

If you want to attenuate CV you can always patch an attenuator (e.g. 4ms Attvert2) in front of the inputs.

Of course it would work, but in a MM context, sparing modules is always useful. And it’s really common that modules knobs are acting as attenuators when CV ins are patched.

Id says its 50/50, (likely even more) to the cv act as an offset to the parameters. thats why separate attenuator params are often implemented (as micro knobs).

personally, I prefer the offset approach - not only does it allow extended ranges (on many modules), but also ‘switching to attenuation’ feels to me like a change in function.

ofc, it’s software, so you could have a ‘hidden’ menu option to switch the behaviour. which also could allow for backwards compatibility (which is important)
