I didn’t know it was a contest- does anyone really care who “won” Superbooth?
There were loads of new modules announced, I was surprised how many.

From what I have seen on YT, it was mostly non-modular stuff. I did see some new modules from Make Noise, Doepfer, and Shakmat. But everything else seemed to be desktop and semi-modular. Even Instruo now has a desktop synth (Seashell). And 1010 has new desktop model (Bento). Maybe 4ms should put MM and the accessory modules in a Pod and call it a new product! LOL!
I was able to get 4ms Super Booth info from ChatGPT:
At Superbooth 2025, 4ms Company showcased several innovative products that expand their offerings in the Eurorack modular synthesizer market. Here’s a summary of their featured releases:
MetaModule & Upcoming Expanders
The MetaModule, introduced at Superbooth 2024, remains a highlight in 4ms’s lineup. This module integrates virtual software modules into Eurorack hardware, allowing users to load patches from VCV Rack and other sources. It features 12 assignable macro knobs, 8 CV/audio inputs and outputs, and supports over 160 built-in modules, with access to more than 1,200 third-party plugins.
At Superbooth 2025, 4ms announced forthcoming expanders for the MetaModule, including:
Knob Expander: Adds eight additional knobs for enhanced control.
Button Expander: Introduces extra buttons for more interaction options.
CV/Audio Expander: Provides additional high-resolution inputs and outputs.
Gate In/Out Expander: Offers gate jacks, TRS MIDI, and I2C connectivity.
Wi-Fi Expander: Enables wireless patch transfer from computers.
These expanders are expected to be available later in 2025.
POD104X Powered Case
4ms introduced the POD104X, a new powered Eurorack case designed for portability and affordability. This compact enclosure offers 104HP of space, making it suitable for small to medium-sized modular setups.
Sampler Module (2025 Edition)
An updated version of the Sampler module was also featured. This module allows for sample playback and recording, with capabilities such as pitch adjustment, sample length modification, and reverse playback. It supports stereo input and output, and samples can be loaded via an SD card.
Generally tech-wise, there wasn’t really anything new and exciting announced this year.
What I thought was cool:
Moog Messenger, what I understand will be a budget mass produced Moog keyboard. It sounded great and was fun to play. Through-zero FM triangle core oscillators and pole-mixing hacks in the filter push the range of sounds it can do quite a bit compared to their old vintage synths and it still definitely sounded like a Moog.
PWM Mantis, but that was already there last year.
RYK’s new looper module, keeping my eye on that.
I thought the new Doepfer A-155-2 Miniature Analog Sequencer with ratcheting was cool!
Intellijel and Make Noise seem to have some good stuff. New Schlappi is always interesting. It’s great that Doepffer is still making modules. This all seems good and healthy to me.
With all the economic and manufacturing insecurity in the world, I thought it kind of remarkable that companies are even coming out with new stuff at all.
Yes, that new Intellijel reverb looks pretty cool.
Personal favourite was the Vermona drum machine / sampler - might have to get that when it launches as looks like a very capable beast.
Let’s not wait for Sonicstate or others to announce things. How did Superbooth25 go (was it well attended? well received?) and did you present anything?
I’m testing the MM 2.0. I’m super happy and looking forward to your announcement of the button expander.
Superbooth was amazing. I hope we didn’t disappoint anyone that we didn’t make any big announcements or contact media for attention or seek
out videos. Promotion was not the focus for us this year. Our primary purpose there was connecting face to face with various suppliers, dealers, collaborators, friends and advisors to make sure we are all working together to navigate today’s global situation. And in that regard it was a huge success.
We’ll have more official announcements of the upcoming expanders (Button Expander first) soon. Now that we have the supply chain figured out we can announce a price and sale date.
Yeah, we certainly have a challenging “global situation” since much of the electronics supply chain is based in the far east. I am glad to hear that you had a great time at the show and were not being ignored by the media.
its no snub…
Nick and crew work all day, dashing from one booth to the next, if you meet them at the hotel bar in the evening (as I have), they are absolutely knackered - and they’ll tell you they just don’t have time to talk/cover everything. so they have to focus on “new” things.
also, I’ll say the Nick and his team do a really good job of seeking out some of the smaller booths, of which theres are so many.
also let’s remember they covered 4ms MM for both pre-release and release years, and also at various other events.
you’re doing a great job @danngreen , look forward to seeing the ecosystem grow
I might also suggest that we do a version 2.0 video - even if it’s just a “5 minutes with” look at a few of the new modules and UI tweaks
Any chance of a pic of the button expander?
We made a video of 2.0 firmware features about a week ago, it’s posted on our Instagram. It should be posted to our Youtube soon.
Hi Dan, I meant me potentially doing a 2.0 video for SonicState (it’s Paulee)
Oh hi! Didn’t realize who you are
Yes for sure we can do a video like that, let’s talk over email
Ok, Thomas has my email - I just upgraded to 2.0 last night so I’m in a good position
