aw ok yeah that makes sense! mm still definitely rocks for even 6 files at once on stage, but im finding it definitely requires a few special considerations when planning out exactly how long those wav files are, to work around the limits, at least for how my live sets (the ones that are geared around the basic wav player anyway) are setup.
really looking forward to seeing what comes of sts on mm down the road! or an advanced wav player, or what have you..
I compared the basic wav player with the other samplers in VCV and experimented triggering tight plucky samples with QCD with div/mult knob modulated randomly - so that triggering would go from from slow to really fast (granular fast). Here the basic wav player sounds very tight and precise. You get a solid “hardware” like feel when using it, unlike the other VCV samplers.
Being able to have a few more controls would go a long way: pitch input and high quality sample transposition, sample start that can be modulated, ability to load a folder of samples and modulate sample selection (all of the VCV samplers I’ve tested sounds horrible here).
