I own a simple foot switch similar to the Lead Foot FS-1.
I’m trying to figure out a way to make it go into an meta module input and create triggers in the virtual side that I can then further use in my patch.
Any help or ideas are very welcome! Thanks in advance!
Thanks for your answer. I tried that and connected the scope to see something. But nothing happens. I think this is because the Foot Switch is completely passiv by itself. So I think one has to do some sort of trick with providing an offset voltage and pulling that down or so.
I don’t have a Lead Foot or similar, but it seems like it’s just an on/off switch? If so, you’d need to send some voltage into the switch — you could get a fixed voltage out of the MetaModule with this — and then send the output of the switch back to the MetaModule. That way you’d be able to turn the voltage on and off with the foot switch – essentially a gate.
If you want to turn that gate into triggers, you could use this module — the Start/End output would send a trigger whenever you tapped the foot switch.
Of course, you’d need to adapt the MetaModule’s Eurorack jacks to the 1/4" jacks on the foot switch, either with 3.5mm-to-1/4" cables or with adaptors.
I pretty much did it like that before already but with A-B Switch. A lets the voltage though and B is 0V. It works with a Slope detector, the G->T you suggested and I felt it worked better with the Not B logic in between. (its now a real switch, not just a latch but I need 1 Trigger per Footstep).
But I would be curios if there is a simpler solution that also maybe works with the Lead Foot FS-1 that has just one output cable which is hard attached to it.
